New Premises .... New Look Blog..... New Items....

Things have been hectic in the new Premises and
Blogging certainly hasn't been on my radar of late!

We have had many compliments on the new shop
and only a few have preferred the other location.

We are welcoming new clients in on a daily basis who
live in town and who hadn't seen the other shop.
Its amazing what being on the other corner
 means for business!

Anyhow here are some of our newer items in store now!

TAA Wedgwood dish, teaspoon and bottle opener.

A fixture in store - our straw filled rocking horse
with the Walnut Tilt-top Dining Table
as backdrop.

A pair of Art Nouveau Copper Vases with an assortment of
Glass Insulators - there is an amazing array
of information on the web about Insulators.... who would have known
they are so collectable!

A lovely Apprentice Table - created by an apprentice to a master
craftsman - lovely patina and age to this piece.

A Hand Painted Blue Venetian Glass Decanter Set.

Mackenzie's idea for how you could use these blue porcelain
Insulators..... great Tim Tam holder!

Large Retro Orange Vase - particularly attractive.

We started with this

And after a lot of elbow grease and hard work cracking the whip.....

You wouldn't recognise the place!

And by night it looks gorgeous....

Anyhow we still have lots and lots to sort through (and get rid of)
but it has been worth it and it is amazing the people who are coming in
who didn't even know we were across the road! Damn!

Life is so busy at the moment....
Soccer is starting (thank goodness)

ready for the BIG move!

This is what it looks like with the BLUE paint off the windows
and the signs off the small glass windows
(who'd have know they were there?)
You can see the broken ones that needed to be replaced.

And there is a hint of the new colour on the pillars.

This is a lovely large Beswick Basket.

Art Deco style Beswick Candle Holder

And to complete the set a large Beswick Jug and
a Beswick Posy Vase.

The shop painted!! Yeay - doesn't it look different??

Lovely Art Glass Paper Weights

Spode Trinket Box and Staffordshire Tray

Gorgeous Gem Razor  and Lillicrap's Uranium Glass Hone

Isn't it great - with it's original box!

And today this is how the shop looks!!

Its Official - we are moving..... across the road!

We have been in our current location 167 York St since
November 2009
however the owners decided to sell the building so when this
came up we figured this was a great alternative.....
And it is 167A York St!!

So we really shouldn't miss out on any existing trade
and our advertising in the Tasmanian Antique Brochure
 wont be a waste!!

This is how it looks now......

And this is how it is going to look once Ashley Hoare,
 Signwriter, finishes with it.

Anyhow I will take photos as we go and let you see the changes.

Have a great week!

Well February is nearly gone and life seems
to be passing by very quickly!

For all the Pipe collectors I have some rather nice and

This is a collection gathered by a relatively young man who enthusiastically
sought out the pipes and the right books to guide him along the way.
